From the smallest Acorns..
Aaron (UK) Ltd, originally trading as Aaron Desking was established in 1990 by our founder, Douglas Ward in the family garage. Using his vast experience and industry contacts to sell and manufacture office furniture, the company grew enough for Douglas to employ a team to help out, and soon moved from home to a small factory premises in Hamble-le-Rice.
Originally selling to the end user, the business secured contracts with Hampshire Police, Solent University, various hospitals, councils and many companies on the South Coast before restructuring to focus on the wholesale market.
With the new venture taking Aaron from strength to strength, we became Aaron (UK) Ltd. in 2010, and moved to our current 20,000 square foot facility in Swanmore.
Humble beginnings, to modern ways
Furniture manufacturing has moved through several trends over the years, our factory was originally configured for real-wood veneers to be applied to chipboard and then sprayed in our dedicated booths.
We would cut and drill every panel, even applying edgebanding by hand!
Luckily, with state of the art machinery manufacturing capacity and speed has increased exponentially and the modern Aaron (UK) Ltd. enjoys processing bulk orders of its most popular products to customers new and old.
Modernised and ready for the future
Today, Aaron (UK) Limited stands 35 years strong, our Swanmore facility is now equipped with the latest in CNC technology and advances in laminated raw materials to keep us at the sharp end of the market.
Recent investments have seen us renew the majority of our machinery, our electrical infrastructure, replace vehicles and start to prepare the factory for renewable energy solutions, with a goal to keeping the business as efficient as possible thereby decreasing our impact on the environment.
With Douglas now retired his son Neil has taken the helm, keeping Aaron true to its roots as a family business and setting the scene for even great growth to come.
